ITM Power Units

ITM Hydrogen Power represents a new generation of clean‑energy infrastructure built around advanced proton‑exchange membrane (PEM) electrolysis. The company focuses on producing renewable hydrogen using electricity from wind, solar, and other zero‑carbon sources, enabling industries to replace fossil fuels with a scalable, high‑purity alternative.

At the core of ITM’s approach is a modular electrolyser platform engineered for efficiency, rapid response, and reliable operation across a wide range of project sizes—from compact, containerised units to multi‑megawatt hydrogen plants. These systems convert water into hydrogen and oxygen with exceptional precision, supporting applications in transport, industrial feedstocks, power balancing, and long‑duration energy storage.

By combining engineering, manufacturing, and deployment expertise, ITM Hydrogen Power aims to accelerate the global shift toward net‑zero energy systems. Its technology is designed to integrate seamlessly with renewable power, reduce operational emissions, and provide a pathway for organisations seeking dependable, future‑proof hydrogen solutions.

ITM Chronos Project

Chronos is ITM’s next‑generation electrolyser stack platform, engineered to redefine performance, reliability, and cost efficiency in green hydrogen production. Developed as the successor to the company’s established Trident platform, Chronos is designed for large‑scale industrial deployment and for seamless integration with renewable power sources.

At the heart of Chronos is a fully modernised PEM stack architecture that supports higher output, improved durability, and more efficient use of materials. Its design enables faster manufacturing, simplified assembly, and greater automation—capabilities that will be amplified by ITM’s new 1 GW production line in the UK, supported by recent government investment.

Chronos aims to deliver hydrogen at lower cost and with higher operational stability, making it suitable for major industrial users, energy companies, and infrastructure developers seeking dependable, scalable electrolyser systems. When formally launched, it is expected to set a new benchmark for commercial electrolyser performance and help accelerate the expansion of the UK’s hydrogen economy.
