Sneakers with a Green Conscience
Organic Cotton
Cariuma exclusively source organic cotton grown with regenerative methods, without harmful pesticides or fertilizers and combating heavy soil erosion and nitrate leaching.
Rubber
They use natural rubber gathered with through ethical “tapping” so no trees are ever harmed.
Bamboo
Cariuma shoes are made using bamboo fibre pulp cut from the stalk to protects the integrity of the plant and soil and certified by the Forest Stewardship Council.
Sugarcane
Their sugarcane relies on rainwater to thrive and is a fully-renewable, bio-based resource that grows quickly and naturally removes carbon from the atmosphere.
Recycled Nylon
Cariuma’s water-resistant recycled nylon is sourced from Global Recycled Standard sources and is hard-wearing, resistant to wear-and-tear, washes easily and is quick to dry.
Recycled PET
Thay intend to significantly reduce their use of virgin plastics and switch to recycled PET certified by the Global Recycled Standard.
Leather & Suede
Their leather comes from Working Group Gold-Rated supplier farming to the highest environmental and social responsibility standards with 100% of the water used in the tanning process is recycled.
Recycled & Recyclable Paper
Their packaging uses 100% recycled & recyclable paper coloured with soy-based ink, for full recyclability of the packaging materials.
Dye Chemicals
Cariuma chose Bluesign-certified chemicals to dye our materials for increased efficiency, reduced water usage and better pollution control.
